New Delhi, February 17: A railway inquiry into derailment in the Mumbai suburban section, which claimed two lives, has revealed that collapse of an under-construction road over bridge on to the passing train caused the mishap in October last.
“The statutory inquiry conducted by Commissioner of Railway Safety, central circle has revealed the accident had occurred due to collapse of 40 m concrete girder of under- construction road over bridge of Thane Municipal Corporation,” a railway official said.
The mishap in the morning rush hour on October 23, claimed the lives of two persons and left 12 injured.
