Cold wave in MP begins to abate

Bhopal, January 07: Cold wave conditions today started to abate in Madhya Pradesh with a rise in minimum temperature in different places, including Bhopal, Meteorological Department officials said.

The minimum temperature in Bhopal today rose to 8 degree celsius from 6.5 degree celsius yesterday, Bhopal-based Madhya Pradesh Meteorological Centre Director O P Keswani told PTI.

He said that the minimum temperature in the morning rose to 10 degree celsius in Hoshangabad district which was 9 degree celsius yesterday.

About the hill station, Pachmarhi in Hoshangabad district, he said that its minimum temperature was around 2 degree celsius, four degree below normal.

The Director said that the lowest minimum temperature was recorded today at 3 degree celsius in Rewa.

The cold wave condition is likely to depart in next 48 hours given that now the winds have commenced entering Madhya Pradesh from the east, Keswani said.
