Chandigarh, January 07: Dense fog affected visibility in parts of Punjab and Haryana where cold wave disrupted normal life today, with Amritsar remaining the coldest at 1.6 degrees Celsius, the Met department said.
Chandigarh recorded 4 degree C, two degrees below normal.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded 3.6 deg C, Karnal 5.7 deg C and Bhiwani 7.6 deg C.
Temperature rose by up to three degrees above normal in Rohtak where mercury settled at 7.5 deg C, Hisar 8.4 deg C and Narnaul 4.5 deg C.
In Punjab, Ludhiana recorded a low of 5 deg C, one degree below normal while Patiala had a minimum of 5.7 deg C.
The Met department has forecast that the days would be clear.
