Cold wave continues in Delhi

New Delhi, January 12: The national capital continued to reel under intense cold wave condition today even as the minimum temperature rose marginally to settle at 7 degree Celsius.

While the minimum temperature rose from yesterday’s 6.5 degree Celsius, the maximum in the last 24 hours stood at 14.6 degree Celsius, six notches below normal.

The MeT office attributed the cold conditions to icy winds blowing from snow-capped mountains in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

There was shallow fog in the morning. However, there was no disruption in flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International airport.

The Met office said the cold wave condition will continue in the city for the next couple of days.

They said that minimum tomorrow is likely to hover around 7 degrees, while the maximum will be around 17 degree Celsius.
