Coimbatore: As many as four crude bombs hurled by unidentified persons near a mosque at Podanur in south Coimbatore.
As per The Hindu reports, the incident took place in the early hours of Friday and no structural damage occurred or anybody were hurt, police said .
Two of the explosives were dropped on houses close to the Sunnath Jamath Masjid and the other two on the houses of Meeran Kutty and Riyaz Suleiman, some 30m away from the mosque, according to police.
As per the initial investigation, petrol could have been used in making of the bombs. Partially burnt wicks and
broken pieces of liquor bottles that were used was collected.
Police force was deployed in the city to maintain law and order and protect religious structures.
