Cockroach served mid-air meal, Air India apologises

MUMBAI: An Air India passenger was appalled to find a cockroach in his served mid-air meal during flight.

According to The Times of India, the incident took place on a Mumbai bound flight on Saturday morning. Rohit Raj Singh Chauhan, the passenger found a dead cockroach inside the served idli-vada-sambar during the flight.

Chauhan complain about a cockroach on a food plate but his plea fell on deaf ears.

With no other option left, Chauhan took to social media social media and posted a photograph of a dead cockroach in his served meal, forcing the airline to apologise.

Air India on Monday apologised for the incident and said it has initiated “corrective action internally”.

“We sincerely apologise for the incident where our valued pax (passenger) had a disappointing experience with the meal served on board our Bhopal-Mumbai flight. Air India always endeavours to ensure our pax enjoy our services,” it issued a statement on Twitter.

“We have taken serious note of the incident and immediately issued a strong notice to the caterer concerned. Air India has zero-tolerance policy in this respect and has initiated corrective action internally. Our senior officials are in touch with the aggrieved passenger,” the airline tweeted.
