Cocaine Drug Peddlers Racket Busted in Hyderabad Six Arrested including two Africans

Hyderabad: Six Arrested Including two foreign national on Monday in connection with the drug racket at Jubilee Hills area in a joint operation by personnel from the local police station and the Commissioner’s Task Force.

Jublee Hills police seized 370 grams of cocaine worth Rs 17 lakh, which the accused were carrying to deliver to their customers. They also seized Rs 46,000 in cash, a Ford car, a motorcycle and 12 cell phones from their possession.

Two men Mandela James, 38, and Drake Owen, 27, from Ghana were arrested. Both were drug peddlers who were supplying drugs from Mumbai. They came to India on business VISA and doing Garments export business. Mandela said to be the kingpin of the racket. He engaged Drake and started selling cocaine to their customers in Hyderabad.

The other two arrested were consumers identified as Abhishek Kumar, an artist, and G.Srinivasulu, both residents of Hitec City here.  Abhishek used to consume Cocaine and purchase Rs 3,500/- per gram from Mandela and sell to his friends at Rs. 4,500/- to 5000/- each gram at Hyderabad to gain easy money.

J.E. Naveen Kumar and M. Srinivas, both natives of Karnataka and employed here, were also arrested for selling drugs.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, B. Limba Reddy said. The African nationals were in India on business visas and were supplying drugs from Mumbai to both the sellers and consumers.

The arrests were made when the Africans reached Jubilee Hills check post on Monday to deliver cocaine to Abhishek and Srinivasulu. The accused persons along with seized material being handed over to SHO, Jubeel Hills PS for further necessary action.
