Guntur, February 21: Government is thinking of setting up a Coast Guard Academy in Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju said here today.
Raju, who was here to attend several local functions, said that there was a proposal to establish a Coast Guard Academy, and Nizampatnam village in Guntur district of the state was being considered as a possible location.
He also said a 3-tier security system was in place to guard the 7500 km long coastline of the country.
