Hyderabad, May 16: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday approved a proposal to enhance the remuneration of panchayat secretaries appointed on contract basis from Rs 4,900 to Rs 8,400 a month. The wage hike will benefit 3,421 panchayat secretaries.
According to a press release, the chief minister also accorded permission for consolidation of pension with respect to teachers of universities/ colleges/ aided colleges (drawing UGC scales) who retired between January 1, 1996 and December 31, 2005 with effect from January 1, 2006. As per the recommendations of a committee constituted by the chairman of AP State Council of Higher Education, 3,054 pensioners will be benefited.
Kiran Kumar Reddy decided to provide an additional budgetary allocation of Rs 57 lakh during 2011- 12 to the director of Daoratul Maarif-il-Osmania in Osmania University campus towards salaries of employees.
He directed finance department officials to release the additional allocation immediately.
He also approved a proposal to sanction 68 teaching and 160 nonteaching posts in the first phase in the JNTU College of Engineering at Manthani of Karimnagar district. The proposal will be placed before the cabinet at its next meeting.
