CM’s claim on 12% Muslim reservation issue proved hollow: Shabbir

Leader of opposition in Telangana legislative council Mohammed Ali Shabbir declared the third extension of term of Sudhir Commission of enquiry, an effort to put the issue on the back burner. He claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has time and again changed his stand on the issue of Muslim reservation, before and after coming to power. Whenever the question of Muslim reservation was raised in the assembly chief minister tired to evade the issue. He has always tried to appease Muslims only by lip services. Extension of term of Sudhir Commission for further 6 months has proved that government is not sincere in providing the reservations immediately and it just wants to use Muslims as its vote bank.

M A Shabbir further said that he had repeatedly invited government’s attention towards retaining 4 percent Muslim reservation but no advocate of Telangana was present during the hearing of the case in Supreme Court recently.
