Lucknow, April 20: Four PILs were filed today in the Allahabad High Court seeking a CBI probe into the murder of Chief Medical officer B P Singh and into alleged financial irregularities in the National Rural Health Mission project.
The Lucknow Bench of the High Court fixed April 20 for hearing one of the PILs.
Chief Justice F I Rebello and Justice D K Arora listed three other PILs for hearing for the next week.
Two PILs were filed by journalists and one by a social organisation.
Singh, the Chief Medical Officer in the Family Welfare Department, was gunned down by two motorcycle-borne persons in posh Gomti Nagar area here on April two.
During probe into the murder, financial irregularities were detected in implementation of the National Rural Health Mission project in the state.
Some employees of the health department were arrested by police in connection with alleged financial irregularities.
Health Minister Anant Kumar Mishra and Family Welfare Minister Babu Singh Khushwaha also resigned from their posts owning moral responsibility.
