CMO condemns cooked-up stories on files pendency

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) today condemned news items that appeared in a section of the media that thousands of files were pending in the CMO and termed them as “cooked up” and painful ones.

In a press release, the CMO stated that while the media was supposed to give factual information to the people, unfortunately it published the false news story without verifying the facts. Such news stories were intended to mar the image of the CMO and the State government. It also strongly objected to a news story that appeared in a news daily and a TV channel saying that some 6,000 files were pending in the CMO. The credibility of the media houses would be affected due to such false stories.

The CMO clarified that out of 15,000 files that came to CMO since January 2011 ie in 15 months period, over 12,000 files were cleared that constitute 92 percent of total files.

Stating that files clearance was a continuous process, the CMO clarified that at any point of time after Kiran Kumar Reddy took charge as Chief Minister, over 90 percent of files were cleared without any delay. About 8 to 10 percent of files , which involved court litigation, subjected to departmental inquiry and personal ones were pending. (NSS)
