CMO concentrates attention on irregularities in Minorities institutions

Hyderabad: According to reliable sources CMO has concentrated its attention on the reported irregularities in Minorities Institutions. CMO has sought clarification from the Dept. of Minorities Welfare. Since the portfolio of this Dept. is with CM, many organizations made a representation to him.

It is understood that Govt. is considering investigating these complaints at higher level. CM has entrusted the task of monitoring the functioning of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare to DGP of ACB, Mr. A.K. Khan. It is expected that he would investigate the matter. It is reported that CMO commissioned some officials and sought reports on the implementation of various welfare schemes and alleged irregularities. Govt. has decided to entrust the investigation of the transactions of rents of Wakf properties located in Basheerbagh to ACB. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare wants to expose the role of middlemen in finalizing rental deeds of Basheer bagh properties who were instrumental in collecting only Rs. 1 lakh.

It may be noted that the rents of four tenants of Wakf properties was exempted and they were made tenants again for Rs. 8000 per month. It is understood that CEO of Wakf Board wrote an adverse note twice but the competent authority of Wakf Board setting aside the rules and regulations approved rental deed.

After Siasat Urdu Daily exposed these transactions, Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare wants to entrust the job of investigation to ACB. It is reported that some interested persons are opposing this move. It remains to be seen how far Dept. of Minorities Welfare would be able to expose these transactions.
