Hyderabad, December 10: The State Government will take stringent action against unsocial elements bent on creating trouble in Hyderabad by taking advantage of the peace rally proposed by the Joint Action Committee of students tomorrow.
Hinting that unoscial elements meant not necessarilty just extremists but could be from political quarters as well, Chief Minsiter K Rosaiah, intervening in a heated debate for a resolution on Telangana in the Assembly today said: “I have information that some anti-social elements are bent on creating anarchy tomorrow.
I want to tell you that the government will deal with them regardless of who those forces are or how powerful they might be or from which quarter they might surface.’’ Rosaiah appealed to the people of all regions of the state to exercise restraint and maintain peace and tranquility.
Stating that the issue of separate statehood for Telangana was under the consideration of the Central Government, he urged TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao to call off his fast-on-to-death to avert violence in the name of agitations for separate statehood.
In a statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office, Rosaiah said that the Constitution entitled every Indian to the right to express his views but they should not cause unrest in society. He pointed out that the agitational programmes for separate Telangana was leading to violence in terms of lives of people and property. He said that bandh calls given by various organisations including political parties were only disturbing commercial activity and encouraging terror.
