CM wants medical treatments costs reduced

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday said that the government was planning to introduce reforms in the Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad to provide better health facilities at low costs to poor and middle class
people.

Talking to media persons after inaugurating the Trauma Care Centre in Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, the Chief Minister said that the government would streamline the medical services by introducing reforms to provide improved health care services. He said that the government would spend Rs 176 crore for the construction of buildings and in providing infrastructure facilities in the NIMS.

Apart from releasing adequate funds for government hospitals, he said that more funds would be allocated for the surgeries performed under the Rajiv Arogyasri Health Scheme. He said that the government would synchronise the Central Drug Stores through online method on experimental basis in three districts. He also said that 108 Emergency
Ambulance service would be linked with Geo Tracking System to provide better facility to the patients in need of medical help.

Health Minister Kondru Murali said that the emergency facility established in the NIMS consists of 500 beds and 14 operation theatres.

Labour Minister Danam Nagender , Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy, Marketing Minister M Mukhesh Goud, Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath, NIMS Director Dr Dharma Rakshak and other officials participated in the programme. (INN)
