CM wants city security beefed up

Hyderabad, September 29: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday asked the Police Officials to increase the forces at important places, offices, shopping areas, centres, Industrial areas, coal, power generation centres and other important locations.

The Chief Minister also instructed that modern equipment like CC TV cameras be utilised to detect the mischievous elements and stringent action be taken on such persons. He also directed Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy to see that the law, order and peace is maintained and violence is prevented all over the State, particularly in the State Capital and its surroundings. The Chief Minister has also instructed to provide full protection to the properties and ensure the safety of the citizens.

Chief Minister has reviewed the law and Order situation in the State particularly in Hyderabad and the Telangana Region in a high-level meeting with Chief SV Prasad, Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy, City Police Commissioner AK Khan, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, Senior Police Officials, Secretaries and other senior officials at his camp here on Wednesday.

However, the Chief Minister also tried to convey that the ‘Brand Hyderabad’ was going bust due to the on-going Telangana agitation. He observed that the State is progressing in all aspects particularly the Hyderabad City. Hyderabad is known as “Pearl City of India”. It is the centre of all prestigious institutions. Lakhs of people from across the world without barriers of country, State, Region, Religion, Caste, Creed are living together in Hyderabad. The City is also regarded as the IT hub in the country with hundreds of software companies and MNCs having their centres in and around the Hitech city. It is also regarded as the health and pharmaceutical capital of India. “This beautiful city is known for its pearls, biryanis and peace-loving people from all regions. It is our bounden duty to protect the peace, tranquillity, heritage, culture and tradition of this great city. Youngsters and women employees from all over the country are working in the IT industry and other crucial sectors. It is also our duty not to cause any harm and inconvenience to anybody, the Chief Minister stated.

The Chief Minister has also opined that– Hyderabad is one of the most developed and happening cities in the country. Known as the walled city, once ruled by Nawabs, Hyderabad is a historic city. History and development blended together makes Hyderabad the most sought after destination of the tourists and investors. It is one of the largest metropolitan cities of India. It is also one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the country. The city was ranked 19th in the world by the New York Times in the list of 41 places to be visited in 2011. It is also known as a Knowledge hub.

The Chief Minister further stated in the meeting of officials that this City is the transit halt between Europe and China. It is inhabited by all races and sects together. It is known for its communal amity, peace and goodwill. The city also has the best climate in the country. It also has the best infrastructure facilities and one of the most developed cities in the country.
