CM Vows To Complete All YSR Schemes

Chittoor, January 31: The Chief Minister, Mr Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Monday said that his government was committed to continue all welfare schemes and complete developmental programmes initiated by the late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy besides lending all possible assistance to the poor, downtrodden and weaker sections in the State.

Speaking after unveiling a YSR statue put up by Vishwasai Charitable Trust at Reddigunta checkpost here, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said late Rajasekhara Reddy was one of the greatest leaders who led the Congress workers in the State for 25 years braving many ordeals. Unfortunately,

Dr Reddy met with untimely death in a helicopter crash while he was coming to the district to launch the “Rachchabanda” programme plunging the people of the State into shock and gloom, he said, adding that late YSR had an inseparable link with the district.

The Chief Minister also recalled that the new Collectorate complex and office of district superintendent of police were set up in the district with valuable suggestions and farsightedness of late Dr Reddy. Referring to the acute shortage of drinking water in the district, especially in Chittoor town, Mr Reddy said that his government was formulating plans to solve the chronic problem by taking up works very shortly. He also said that his government was giving top priority to the drinking water problem and was keen on quenching the thirst of the people of the district.

The Revenue Minister, Mr N Raghuveera Reddy, the Minister for Mines and Geology, Ms Galla Aruna Kumari, the Chittoor MLA, Mr C K Jayachandra Reddy, the MLC, Mr R Reddapa Reddy, the former legislator, Mr Tippeswamy (Palamaner), the district Collector, Mr V Seshadri, the superintendent of police, Mr Ramakrishna, the Anantapur Range Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr Charu Sinha, the Municipal Commissioner, Mr Varma, officials of various departments, members of Self-Help Groups, the Congress party activists and admirers were present.
