CM to visit flood-hit areas from today

Hyderabad, October 11: Chief minister K Rosaiah will visit the flood affected areas of Mahbubnagar, Kurnool and Vijayawada for three days from Sunday.

Addressing a press conference after seeing off Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Begumpet airport, Rosaiah said that he would leave for Alampur in Mahbubnagar district on Sunday afternoon and then to Mantralayam. He would then proceed to Kurnool and make a night halt there.

The chief minister thanked the prime minister for the advance release of Rs 1,000 crore to the state. He said that the prime minister had assured him that the Centre will be supporting the state government and funds will not be a constraint. Rosaiah also said that the prime minister has asked his government to prepare detailed schemes and approach the Centre without worrying about funds.

The CM said that a central team will be visiting the flood affected areas and assess the damage. He said that he has already directed state officials to enumerate the loss caused by the floods.
