CM urges Prez against bill

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today urged the President Pranab Mukherjee to abstain from introducing Telangana bill in Parliament as it was rejected by both houses of Assembly and Council.
In a press release here Kiran Reddy urged the President against taking further steps to introduce the bill. The house while rejecting the AP Reorganization Bill 2013 requested the President of India not to recommend for introduction of the bill in Parliament as the bill seeks to bifurcate the state without any reason or basis, Kiran said.
Besides he said that the bill is in utter disregard to the linguistic and cultural homogeneity and economic and administrative viability of both regions. The bill also completely ignores the very basis of formation of State of Andhra Pradesh, the first linguistic state created in Independent India, Kiran said. (NSS)
