CM unwilling, Lagadapati may be behind new party: Gade

Former Minister and Seemandhra Congress leader Gade Venkat Reddy today said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is not evincing interest in floating a new party.

Talking to scribes at Assembly Lobbies, Venkat Reddy said Kiran Kumar Reddy was reluctant to disclose his mind on the probability of the new party. However, he did not rule out the possibility of the Chief Minister switching over to new party after the completion of the debate on Telangana Draft bill.

Kiran Kumar Reddy is unwilling to speak his mind as of now, but who knows he may join the new party or may not, he said. On seeking time extension for the debate on the Telangana Bill, he said it will not help stop Telangana. He said Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal might be behind the campaign of “Samaikyandhra Party”, whose blitzkrieg is on with a number of banners, hoardings and flexes, besides campaigning was going on in the Seemandhra districts.
When asked, the senior Congress leader said time will only decide on the Telangana demand as the deadline for debate on Draft bill was nearing. He observed that switching over to other parties will not give expected results. There is no point in leaving the party, he said, adding that the leaders have to remain in the party and teach a lesson to the TDP and YSRCP in the forthcoming general elections. He said YSR Congress Party lacks clarity on its stance on bifurcation. The party failed to adopt and follow what it tells, he said. (NSS)
