Hyderabad, April 20: The chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is hardly happy with the tardy pace of works under the ‘100 Days Action Plan for Hyderabad City’ and on Monday directed officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to complete the balance works immediately and warned that the progress would be inspected by ministers and MLAs soon.
Reviewing the proposed action plan with the officials at his Camp Office here, the chief minister wanted proper coordination between various departments to provide better civic amenities to the people.
Kiran Kumar Reddy enquired about the progress of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) works and the issue regarding funding from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) due to the recent earthquake in Japan. Officials told him that the funding are already in place and the works are in full swing.
GHMC commissioner Sameer Sharma told him that works worth Rs. 110.54 crores including CC roads, BT roads, sidewalks and bus shelters etc have already been completed.
Officials said that Hussainsagar Lake and Catchment area improvement project is under progress. Almost 25 parks/medians and refurbishments have been completed and the ORR stretch between Pedda Amberpet and Gachibowli is opened for traffic from March 1. The stretch from Narsingi to Patancheru would be completed by May 31.
The PVNR Expressway ramps at Hyderguda, Aramgarh and Laxminagar are nearing completion and around 100 mini buses and 50 AC buses are being introduced in the Greater Hyderabad zone.
