Hyderabad, September 14: Following criticism by the opposition parties for not attending to the problems being faced by farmers, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has finally decided to tour the Konaseema region where farmers have declared ‘Crop Holiday’ in protest against the government’s failure to provide remunerative prices for their produce.
The Chief Minister will tour the West Godavari District on Sept 15th. He will attend a meeting with officials and non-officials in Rajahmundry and leave for Pulla in West Godavari district by Helicopter. He will lay foundation stone for PHC, BMCU at Pulla, Sri Shakti Bhavans, and Modernised Veterinary dispensaries of West Godavari District in the morning. He will also launch the Rythu Sadassu and Stri Nidhi and then address the public meeting where he will distribute Pavala Vaddi for SHGs and farmers, SHG Bank linkage, interest waiver and insurance and loans to the farmers.
The Chief Minister will also visit Eluru where he will inaugurate the Zilla Parishad Meeting Hall and then lay foundation stone for Municipal works worth Rs.10 Crores. He will chair the District Review Meeting at Eluru SP’s office and interact with the West Godavari Zilla Samakhya at TTDC.
Kiran Kumar Reddy is likely to announce specific measures to provide relief for the farmers who declared ‘Crop Holiday’, especially in view of the recommendations made by the Mohan Kanda Committee.
