CM tells KCR to lead all-party team to Delhi

Hyderabad, October 27: Chief minister K Rosaiah took potshots at Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao after the latter demanded that the chief minister should lead an all-party delegation to request the Centre to sort out the issue of Hyderabad as free zone. Rosaiah said he was a small man compared to Chandrasekhar Rao and asked the TRS chief to do the honours.

Rosaiah, known for his tongue-in-cheek remarks, today told reporters at Secretariat that Chandrasekhar Rao was a very influential man at the Centre and he was no match to the TRS president. “Chandrasekhar Rao is a Parliament member and has better access to the Prime Minister. Hence, he should lead an all-party delegation,” he said.

He pointed out that the State government had already passed a resolution for removal of the controversial Para 14 (f) of the Presidential Order in the Assembly and forwarded the same to the Centre. The Centre response was being awaited, he said. Rosaiah discussed the issue with chief secretary SV Prasad and had asked the latter to write once again to the Centre to expedite the issue.

KTR questions Rosaiah’s sincerity on the issue

Meanwhile, Chandrasekhar Rao’s son and TRS MLA K T Rama Rao took objection to the chief minister’s remarks on the Hyderabad free zone issue and for refusing to lead an all-party delegation to Delhi. He questioned the chief minister’s sincerity on the issue. In the recent AP Public Service Commission (APPSC) notification, Hyderabad was shown as a free zone without taking into consideration the Assembly resolution which clearly mentioned that Hyderabad was a part of the sixth zone, he said.

Rama Rao demanded that the state government should cancel the APPSC notification for recruitment of government degree college lecturers. The recruitment notification was issued last October but due to some technical reasons the process was not yet completed.
