Kochi, February 27: Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly and senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy today said he was ready to give written reply on allegations against him to Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, if the letter was ready to order a probe in to all allegations made against his son.
Talking to reporters here, he said the Chief Minister should order a high-level probe into the allegations levelled against his son.
However, the government could choose the investigating agency and the Opposition would not interference into it.
On the lottery issue, the Opposition Leader alleged that it was the Chief Minister who was delaying the ordering of CBI probe. The Chief Minister’s statements recently were contradicting as he hide many facts from the people as well as the media.
Claiming that the Prime Minister had taken immediate action on the Chief Minister’s letter requesting a CBI probe, he alleged though the Prime Minister’s office had taken quick action, the Chief Minister’s office “kept it in freezer” for about 50 days.
On the statements by Chief Minister that all those guilty in the UDF would be jailed, he said the UDF would not be silent to such threats.
Asked about the bomb blast at Nadapuram, in which five IUML league activities were killed, he said the government should take stern action against the guilty.
Though there were similar incidents in the area, the government had miserably failed to take stern action, he alleged.
