CM should expel tainted ministers: CPI

Communist Party of India (CPI) Andhra Pradesh Unit Secretary K Narayana today demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy must expel all the tainted ministers in his cabinet immediately. Talking to newspersons here, he demanded resignation from Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathi, who has been convicted by the Special Court for Economic Offences at Nampally for FERA violations yesterday. The court has awarded simple imprisonment for two months and a fine of Rs 5.25 lakh. However, the court had suspended the order for a month on a request by the Minister who informed that he will move the High Court. In the wake of the court’s judgment, he demanded that the Chief Minister suspend the minister from the cabinet to upgrade the moral values in the politics.

He said the minister has no moral right to continue in his post and demanded that Mr Parthasarathy himself resign from the cabinet.

Narayana expressed grave concern over the growing influences of liquor, mining and sand mafia in the government. He appealed to the government to act sternly against all these mafias and book the culprits to protect the interest of the people and the government as well. Meanwhile, Mr Parthsarathy met Chief Minister and reportedly discussed about the court verdict against him. It is learnt the minister had also discussed about the demand of his resignation by opposition parties. UNI
