Hyderabad, August 19: Former minister Konda Surekha on Wednesday lambasted Chief Minister K Rosaiah for allegedly targeting loyalists of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy by scheming the issuance of show-cause notice to her and downscaling her security.
Talking to media persons at CLP media point, Ms Surekha alleged that the government, even after knowing that there is a threat, has downscaled her security. She made it clear that Mr Rosaiah would be responsible if anything untoward happens to her.
The former Minister said that the government can provide security to Telugu Desam Party leader Eraballi Dayakar Rao but is unwilling to do the same for her. Ms Surekha said that that the downscaling her security has left her exposed to any future attack.
The former minister blamed the ‘irresponsibility’ of Warangal Superintendent of police for the violence at Mahabubabad railway station when Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy started off for his Odarpu yatra in Telangana region.
She added that the government has taken no action against the Warangal SP over the Mahabubabad violence even after complaints against him.
Ms Surekha further said that all political parties see in Mr Jaganmohan Reddy a real threat to their political future and hence have joined hands in attempting to marginalise the young leader. She said that the political parties have even gone to the extent of siding with the government.
She further pointed out that some politicians blamed the Kadapa MP for the violence at Mahabubabad, by saying that he had gone ahead with the Yatra despite prior warnings of possible violence. She said that if the government had prior information, then it could have arrested the young MP at his house, but chose to do so when the situation turned violent.
Ms Surekha also alleged that the Congress Government has allotted works of laying the pipeline of Chevella and Pranahitha irrigation projects to TDP member Dayakar Rao. She said that awarding a project worth around Rs 400 crore to the loyalist of opposition party chief N Chandrababu Naidu does not make sense.
The former minister questioned Mr Rosaiah that, how can it be wrong to be loyal to former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his family.
She sent a copy of her eight-page letter to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, In-Charge of Party Affairs in AP Veerappa Moily, Chief Minister Rosaiah, PCC chief D Srinivas and Director General of Police.
