Hyderabad, June 26: Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy is of the view that the ‘Express Rail Link from Begumpet to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad’ is not viable. Instead, he wants the Investment & Infrastructure Department to prepare a comprehensive plan connecting all the railway stations in the HMDA area, MMTS stations, Hyderabad Metro line and also the entire length of Outer Ring Road with radial connectivity to the Shamshabad Airport.
At a review meeting here on Thursday, he said that this would be useful for people coming to the Airport from all over the State. It would also conveniently connect all the places around the Outer Ring Road. He said the State Government has already acquired enough land for railway stations along the Outer Ring Road. Chief Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy, Secretary Investment & Infrastructure Manmohan Singh, GMR representatives and other officials attended the meeting.
