CM ridicules YSRC’s claim of sacrificing MLAs’ posts

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday came down heavily on YSR Congress group members for claiming that they have sacrificed the posts of elected representatives for the cause of farmers’ welfare.

Addressing a massive by-election convention at Nagulapadu in Guntur district, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the MLAs have violated the constitution by voting in favour of No Confidence Motion introduced by Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu against his government over the farmers’ issue.

Stating that the government issued GOs attaching Jagan’s properties as part of investigation, Kiran Kumar said that he did his duty as per the constitution. He reminded that former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy issued such GOs when Satyam scam came to light and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu did the same during Krushi Bank fraud.

He also slammed Jagan Mohan Reddy for targeting the State Government over the dilution of former chief minister YSR’s schemes and programmes. Stating that the government committed to implementation all welfare schemes and programmes of YSR, the Chief Minister said that the government has cleared Rs 5,000 crore dues of reimbursement of fee to students of professional courses and increased allotment of funds for minority community welfare from Rs 30 crore to Rs 480 crore.

The Chief Minister said that Jagan Mohan Reddy could not change the mindset of people of State by misusing his newspaper and channel. He expressed confidence that the people, who benefitted from the schemes of government, would repose their confidence by voting in favour of congress party in the ensuing by-elections.

Addressing the meeting, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana said that Jagan Mohan Reddy, who earned money through dubious means, has no right to speak against the Congress party. He said that the change of government in the State would undermine the implementation of welfare schemes and programmes. (INN)
