Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today requested Union Minister for Power Veerappa Moily to help tide over power shortage in the state. The Chief Minister requested Mr Moily, who was in the city to participate in the 10th Annual Convocation of NALSAR University to consider allocation of 231 MW from NTPC Jhajjar till end of May 2013 to meet the present critical power crisis, an official release here said. NTPC Jhajjar power has been allocated power to the tune of 131 MW upto October 2012 against the earlier allocation of 231 MW. The Chief Minister also requested the Union Minister to allocate power from unallocated share of Central Generating stations of southern region upto 500 MW. Mr Reddy requested the Power Minister to allocate power from unallocated power of 300 MW from the Kundankulam Atomic Power Plant and 75 MW from 2nd expansion of Neyveli Lignite Corporation on firm basis to Andhra Pradesh.
