While submitting various proposals to 14th Finance Commission, State Govt. demanded the sanction Rs.30, 425 crore for the State and also requested for the reconsideration of the conditions laid down. Govt. of A.P. submitted a memorandum to the Chairman of 14th Finance Commission, Dr. Y.Venugopal Reddy in which it expressed it anxiety that many condition are being imposed by Ministry of Finance which are coming in the way of implementation of the scheme. State Govt. also demanded the Commission to ensure 40% share of Central Taxes. CM also suggested that the 4% Central Tax recommended for Local Bodies should also be implemented. The CM regretted that Central Govt. is lethargic in paying the share of the State Govt. due to which the facilities for the increasing population are not being fulfilled.
Finance Minister A. Ram Narayan Reddy, Revenue Minster N. Raguveera Reddy, Chief Secretary Dr. P.K. Mohanty were also present in the meeting.
