Hyderabad, January 21: Nearly 18 lakh people and 6.5 lakh self-help group members will be benefited under various schemes as part of the State government’s prestigious Racchabanda programme to be held from Jan 24 to Feb 12 across the State.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday directed the finance department to release Rs 1,200 crore of the Rs 2,500 crore required for implementation of the programme.
He directed the district collectors to complete arrangements for Racchabanda and be prepared to resolve grievances of the people on the spot. He wanted ministers, MLAs and other public representatives cutting across party lines, to participate in the programme and get feedback from the people on government programmes apart from redressing their grievances. He said the government was attempting to take administration to the doorsteps of the people.
The thrust areas of Racchabanda are ration cards, pensions, Dr YSR Abhayahastam, Aarogyasri, housing, MGNREGS and Pavala Vaddi schemes.
As part of the programme, the government will issue white ration cards to 5.7 lakh people, pensions to about three lakh old people and pay arrears/bills pertaining to 4.7 lakh houses being constructed under the Indiramma housing scheme.
