CM rebuts TD barbs against Rahul, Sonia

Hyderabad, November 02: Chief Minister K Rosaiah has come down heavily on the Telugu Desam Party for blaming Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi for the atrocities being committed by the agents of some Micro Finance Institutions.

Addressing a news conference here on Sunday, the chief minister took objection to the allegations against the top leaders of the party just because they posed for photographs with the proprietors of MFIs. “This is ridiculous.

When the TDP was in power, one Ramakrishna Goud from Nizamabad was seen in a photograph with Chandrababu Naidu. Later it was found that Goud was involved in printing fake currency notes. Does it mean that Naidu is responsible for the crime?” Rosaiah asked.

Rosaiah also remembered Kola Krishna Mohan who had claimed to win a euro lottery and even donated Rs 10 lakh to the TDP. But it was later proved that he had pulled out a fraud. “Does it mean that the the TDP was involved in it?” Rosaiah questioned.

He wondered whether the allegations against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were being made by TDP leaders hoping that such an act would improve their image. Recalling the services of Nehru family, he said people could not be influenced with such cheap criticism against them.

“Criticism should be constructive and should help the ruling party take a decision for the good of society. But this criticism is baseless,” he said.

Rosaiah said Rahul Gandhi had called him recently and told him that he would not like MFI agents harass the poor and wanted the state government to ensure loans on easier terms like lower interest rates.
