Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday announced that he would make all efforts to develop Chittoor district industrially.
Talking to media persons after laying a foundation stone for the construction of a 50-bed maternity hospital and launching a slew of development works in the district at an estimated cost of Rs 80 crores, the Chief Minister assured the people that he would develop the district industrially and take steps to providing employment to youth under the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme. He said that Rs 185 crore had been allotted for women self help groups apart from allotting Rs 40 lakhs for construction Shadikhana for Muslims community.
Kiran Kumar Reddy said that though Tirupati MLA K chiranjeevi has been elevated to Rajya Sabha he would continue his efforts to develop the district.
Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi thanked the Tirupati Assembly constituency people for giving birth to his political career and assured them that he would continue his services for developing the constituency despite his elevation to Rajya Sabha. He thanked the Chief Minister for extending his cooperation in the industrial development of Tirupati.
Minister for Mines and Geology Galla Aruna Kumari was also present in the programme.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones to the drinking water scheme, PG hostel buildings, additional buildings and construction of urdu ghar and shadikhana in Tirupathi town. It may be recalled here that the Chief Minister during his last visit to Tirupathi town on February 11th has assured to take up the Tirupathi water augmentation scheme as well as construction of new PG hostel buildings, additional buildings and shadikhana.
The Chief Minister also participated in the Shirdi Sai Vigraha Pranaprathishta Mahotsavam in Nagari. Later, he left for Tirupati and laid foundation stone for New Post Graduate Hostel Building & Additional Buildings for PG students estimated to cost Rs 7.50 crs at the Sri Padmavathi Women’s college. He also laid foundation stone for improvements to Urdu Ghar-cum-Shadikhana at MR Palli. He inaugurated the Sree Venkateswara Oriental College Building near TTD Administrative Building built at a cost of Rs.5 crs (the building will have 4 floors for hostel and PG Classrooms to serve 450 girl students). He also laid foundation stone for Integrated hostel Complex for boys which will cost Rs.4 Crores at Channa Reddy Colony.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for 132/33 KV sub station at Alipiri at an estimated cost of Rs.12.52 crs to improve power supply in Tirupati, Tirumala and Chandragiri substations.
Kiran Kumar Reddy laid foundation stone for Institute for Pregnant women estimated to cost Rs.20.10 crs at the Ruia College premises. The institute will provide modern ultra sound CCTV, Modular OT, Lab, ICU, Emergency ward, post delivery ward. Foundation stone for the Tirupati Water Supply augmentation scheme estimated to cost Rs.30 crs which will augment 32 MLD to the present capacity of 37.83 MLD will ensure daily water supply to TMC and other Institutions etc was also laid by the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also discussed about the by-election to be held for Tirupati Assembly constituency with the local leaders and erstwhile PRP cadre at Padvathi Guest House for more than three hours. Both the Chief Minister and Chiranjeevi collected the views of leaders individually over the winning chances of Galla Aruna Kumari’s son and industrialist Jayadev and former MLA Venkata Ramana.
According to reports, the Chief Minister is taking Tirupati Assembly constituency by-election seriously after the defeat of party in the recent by-elections and is planning a strategy to win the constituency at any cost. (INN)
