Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday paid glowing tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 21st death anniversary.
In a message the Chief Minister described late Rajiv Gandhi as the leader who heralded India into the 21st century. He said late Rajiv Gandhi was a great visionary, able administrator and a dynamic leader. Rajiv Gandhi laid down his life for the integration of the country and died in a bomb blast at Sri Perumbudur on 21st May, 1991, he said.
Kiran Kumar Reddy said late Rajiv Gandhi brought in Panchayat Raj reforms and also heralded the IT and Communications revolution in the country. He also launched many programmes for the uplift of the downtrodden in the country and gave a new boost to India’s economic progress giving the country a pride of place in the comity of world nations, the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister said late Rajiv Gandhi’s ideals, leadership qualities and dynamism will always be an inspiration to him and he would try to follow the late leader. (INN)
