Hyderabad, November 12: While paying tributes to the scholar of Hind, freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad for his journalistic and educational services chief minister K Rosaiah gave away Maulana Abul Kalam Azad awards to five journalists of print and electronic media including staff reporter ‘Siasat daily’ Mohammad Nayeem Wajahat.
He also distributed awards to the successful students of elocution and essay writing competitions. Declaring journalists as the connecting bridge between government and public, chief minister said while journalists bring out public problems before the government similarly they create awareness among the public so that they can benefit from the welfare schemes of the government. He told that he was one among those lucky ones who had the opportunity of seeing Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and listening to his speeches. During his speech Chief Minister assured that he would try his best to ensure Muslim reservations.
Former Minister Mr. Mohammad Ali Shabbir said ‘Maulana Azad’s life and his services are a slap in the face of communal parties like RSS and BJP who express their suspicion over Muslims.’
