CM paying only lip sympathy towards SCS, STS: BJP

A galaxy of BJP leaders on Sunday paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at Tank Bund on the occasion of his 123rd birth anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, former national BJP president Bangaru Lakman said though more and more people were following Dr Ambedkar and next to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in popularity, the ruling Congress party was averse to install an Ambedkar statue on the premises of the Parliament House. He alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has proved his apathy towards the SCs and STs by not allocating adequate funds in the budget in SC and ST Sub-Plans.
State BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy alleged that the State government was not caring to provide ration cards and pensions to slum dwellers despite its tall promises. He demanded that the government provide them ration cards and pensions without losing a minute. He also alleged that the Congress government was not really bothering about welfare of the SCs and STs barring lip sympathy. He accused the Kiran Kumar Reddy government of using the SC, ST Sub-Plans only for the sake of publicity for the Congress governments. He said the Congress government has utterly failed to set up SC, ST Commission though the BJP had gone on hunger strike for three days. He warned the State government that the BJP would approach the High Court if it failed to set up the SC, ST Commission immediately.
BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao, BJP national executive member Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP SC Morcha State president K Ramulu, Indira, Chinta Sambamurthy, B Venkat Reddy, B Prathap, E Lingam, B Rosaiah, Ashok and several others were also present. (NSS)
