Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy congratulated two students — Ramanjaneyulu and Pattabhi Sandeep — of Andhra Pradesh Sports School for securing I and III State ranks in Intermediate Board Examinations in HEC group. He said the students have made the government proud and set an example by excelling equally in sports and academics.
The students — Addagiri Ramanjaneyulu, whose father is a daily wager, scored 918 marks in Intermediate and secured State first rank while Guntu Kogula Pattabhi Sandeep scored 911 marks and secured State third rank. They called on the Chief Minister this morning at the Camp Office.
The Chief Minister complimented them and said sports enhance both physical and mental ability, which help to take right decisions in life and career. Regarding the achievements in Sports — Ramanjaneyulu participated in 13 nationals and won nine National medals in 100-meter hurdles in Athletics. Sandeep participated in nine nationals and won two National medals in Archery.
Youth Welfare and Sports Department Secretary Luv Agrval, SAAP Director T R K Rao and Principal of the School Dr Narsaiah were also present on the occasion.
The sport school started in 1992 to promote the concept of “Catch them Young and teach them Right” for achieving excellence in Sports and Academics. Classes from IV to Senior Intermediate with State syllabus (English Medium) are being provided along with coaching facilities at Hakimpet in Ranga Reddy district. The institution has the credential of contributing 76 international and 1,500 national medals from 1995. (NSS)
