Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed his happiness and satisfaction over the successful conduct of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit-2017, inaugural of the Hyderabad Metro Rail and other programmes.
The Chief Minister congratulated Chief Secretary SP Singh, DGP M Mahender Reddy, Civil and Police administration. He said all the departments concerned have worked in coordination and helped successful organization of the events. He felt that after the successful of GES, the prestige of Hyderabad had been enhanced worldwide.
CM appreciates the police
The Chief Minister has special thanks for the police department, which organized the events without any hiccup and causing even the smallest discomfort to the visiting dignitaries from the country and abroad. The Police have maintained high quality standards with a lot of decorum. He said he had received a message from the Centre praising the police. He appreciated that the police were able to provide excellent security to Prime Minister Modi, US President’s Advisor Ivanka Trump, former UK PM’s wife Cherry Blair and delegates from 150 countries.
KCR is also highly appreciable the way the police managed events like GES, Metro Rail Inauguration and eight more different important programmes as well as providing security to the VVIPS during their visits on the same day. This has increased the prestige of Telangana state. With their team spirit, excellent cooperation, the police have helped the successful conduct of the first ever mega event in the State of Telangana, the CM said.
The CM said the police won the appreciation of the US Secret Agency, Union Home Ministry, Niti Aayog and delegates from abroad who attended the event for the professional and efficient way they have handled a host of programmes attended by VVIPs on a single day at various locations without any problem. Since US President’s daughter and Advisor Ivanka Trump attended the event, the US Secret service got directly involved in the security arrangements.
The Union Home Ministry also kept a tab on the events due to the visit of the PM and other Union Ministers. Intelligence department, Gray Hounds, SIB and other departments have chalked out the plans and these were coordinated by the Hyderabad Police and executed in a very efficient way. On a single day, events were organized at Miyapur Metro station, Madhapur HICC, Falaknama Palace, Golconda Fort, Begumpet and Shamshabad Airports, Trident Hotel, VIP aircrafts handling, three Military Choppers flying around took place. In the history of Hyderabad such a thing never happened. Despite all this, the Hyderabad police have prepared the plans in advance and executed in such a way that nothing went wrong and there was not even a traffic jam.
Delegates from150 countries came and they were given Identity cards after their arrival. Every visiting delegate is treated well and ensured that he/she attended the conference and went back to the hotel. Security arrangements were made in such way that no guest is subjected to the inconvenience under the pretext of security checks. Latest technologies are used to scan each and every individual thoroughly without subjecting them to physical frisking. Arrangements were also made that nobody ever got a chance to complain. This was possible as one IG level officer along with separate team were provided to each VIP and with the coordination with Union Home department and US Secret service.
Work was divided among the senior officers not only from Hyderabad, Cyberabad Commisionarates limits where the events took place but also from other cities and districts. Appreciation came in from all quarters that unprecedented security arrangements were made for the mega events that took place in Hyderabad. DGP Mahender Reddy was also appreciated by for organizing and coordinating such a big event within short span of time after becoming the DGP, he said.
Ivanka’s visit kept secret
The entire visit of Ivanka was kept as a secret. The US Secret Service shared the details of her movements with the local police at the last moment. Earlier, they said that she will fly in by a special jet but she came in the common passenger flight. They maintained that she will stay in Westin but she stayed at Trident. They kept secret about her visit to Golconda. The Telangana police also were prepared with Plan A and B in tune with the US Secret service. They have responded to the last minute changes in the programmes. This is precisely the reason why US Secret Service officials have congratulated Mahender Reddy while they were leaving the city. (INN)
