CM Parkala Tour: 300 TRS Workers arrested

In view of the whirlwind tour of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana and AICC observer Vayalar Ravi in the Parakala Assembly constituency on Sunday, the police took some 300 Telangana activists into preventive custody and stirred a hornet’s nest.

Enraged over the police action, a large number of TRS leaders, including Vinay Bhaskar, Rajaiah, Ravinder Reddy and others squatted before the district police headquarters demanding that their activists be released immediately.

Reacting to the preventive arrests of TRS workers, former MP Vinod Kumar condemned the police action. He said that the arrests of party workers, who were scheduled to attend a meeting called by party supremo K. Chandrasekhara Rao, was atrocious. He demanded that the police immediately release the TRS workers unconditionally.

On being informed of the preventive arrests of party activists, Chandrasekhara Rao called State Election Commissioner Banwarlal and Warangal SP on phone and lodged a protest. However, the TRS leaders gave up dharna later on the assurance of the Rural SP Rajesh that the detainees will be released
