The Telangana Government has finally given its nod for wage hike for employees working in temples. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao signed the relevant file here on Thursday after the Finance Ministry clearing it. Thus, the decision paves an easy way for implementation of 10th Pay Revision Commission for the 2365 employees working in 370 temples.
Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said the government’s decision will burden the exchequer to the tune of Rs 4.5 crore.. The Chief Minister, while signing the file reportedly asked the officials to issue a GO in this regard. The Endowment Minister maintained that the GO is expected to be released in a day or two. The Government has so far spent some Rs 10 crore on these employees and the fresh hike will put it to some Rs 15 crore, he said.
The minister also said the government will spend 30 per cent of revenue of the Endowments department to provide salaries to the staff, a press release stated. (NSS)
