Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will launch the 6th Phase of Land Distribution at a public meeting near the Ganesh Circle, Puttaparthy, Anantapur district on November 3, at 2.10 pm.
About 83,000 acres will be distributed to 57,000 beneficiaries (landless people) in 21 districts during the 6th Phase from November 3 to 10. Each beneficiary will be handed over a set of official documents containing D-Form patta with security features, pattedar passbook, title deed, Field Measurement Book (FMB), Adangal and possession panchanama to ensure peaceful possession of lands by the beneficiaries. This is to avoid disputes with others. The land identified for landless poor would be alienable, cultivable and assignable.
Of the initial target of distributing one lakh acres of land under the 6th phase of the land distribution program, about 83,000 acres have been identified till date and more will be identified very soon. The 57,000 beneficiaries include 18,600 SCs, 19,800 STs, 23,000 BCs, 3,800 minorities and 8,000 others. The land will be distributed through the ministers, MLAs and MLCs concerned in the State.
The district-wise extent of land identified and to be distributed in the 6th Phase are as follows: Srikakulam district (identified land – 960.82 acrs); Vizianagaram – 3,928.17; Visakhapatnam – 3,896.6; East Godavari – 3,341.31; West Godavari – 546.10; Krishna – 83.29; Guntur – 1,262.32; Prakasam – 4,858.90; Nellore – 10,493.17; Ananthapuram – 11,982.99; Chittoor – 10,339.51; Kurnool – 3,033.75; Kadapa – 5,060.37; Adilabad – 2,709.42; Karimnagar – 2,050.13; Khammam – 4,492.12; Warangal – 5,494.37; Rangareddy – 1,876.39; Mahaboobnagar – 2,214.75; Medak – 1,286.11 and Nalgonda – 2,405.26. Total (identified land) so far is 82,815.85 acres.
It may be stated here that the State Government has already distributed a record 7.17 lakh acres to 5.1 lakh landless poor families in the 5th phase of the program after 2005. The government settled all the disputes except for very few extent of land.. Cases were pending in various courts on these lands. Meanwhile, the government appointed special deputy collector in each district to review the implementation of the Koneru Ranga Rao committee recommendation on the land distribution to the landless poor. The officials were also asked to implement the prevention of transfer of land provision strictly.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will reach Bengaluru Airport by regular flight from Visakhapatnam at 10.20 am on November 3. He will reach Puttaparthi Airport in Anantapur district by helicopter at 1.30 pm and after brief stay and lunch, he would arrive at the public meeting place near Ganesh Circle, Puttaparthi at 2.10 pm. He will inaugurate the 6th phase of land distribution to the poor and address the public meeting. He will also distribute assets to SHG groups of DRDA-IKP & MEPMA up to 3.40 pm. He will return to Puttaparthi Airport and reaches Kalikiri in Chittoor district by helicopter at 4.30 pm and will have night halt there. (NSS)
