CM Kiran hops into Damodara’s car fearing T wrath

Fearing that his convoy would be stopped by the Telangana agitators, the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy went to the Secretariat from the Assembly, in the vehicle of the Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha, who is a Telangana leader, on Friday.
There was commotion in the Assembly as TRS, TDP Telangana Forum, BJP and CPI MLAs obstructed the proceedings, leading to the Speaker Nadendla Manohar adjourning the house to Monday, without transacting any business. After the house was adjourned, while all left, the Chief Minister suspected that his convoy would be obstructed by the Telangana activists. He hopped into the vehicle of the Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha and proceeded to the secretary.
The Chief Minister and the Speaker came to the Assembly very early on Friday. Then also Telangana activists tried to block the convoy of the Chief Minister. Fearing that he would face the same resistance, the Chief Minister used Damodara’s vehicle to reach the secretariat, as he belonged to the Telangana region.
As TRS MLAs were guarding gate 2 and BJP MLAs gate 3, the Chief Minister and the Speaker left the Assembly through another road.
Meanwhile police arrested MLAs who lied down on the road and tried to stop vehicles. BJP Mas Yendala Lakshmi Narayana, Yennam Srinivasa Reddy, Nagam Janardana Reddy, CPI MLA Konamneni Sambasiva Rao, TRS MLAs Eetela Rajender and K T Rama Rao were among those who were arrested. CPI state secretary Narayana, TRS leader Chandrasekhar and several others were stopped at the Liberty circle and arrested by the police there was scuffle between the police and the Telangana protagonists at Liberty circle. CPI(M) leader Julakanti Ranga Reddy has alleged that the state government was playing with the lives of the people. He said the ruling party got the dubious distinction of destroying the state. (NSS)
