CM instructs officials to prepare unique schemes for Muslims– Important announcement expected in Assembly today

Hyderabad: It is expected that CM of Telangana State, Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao might make some important announcement in the Assembly today pertaining to the educational and economic development of Minorities.

Mr. KCR held a meeting with the officials of the Department of Minorities Welfare and instructed them to prepare unique schemes which would ensure the overall development of Minorities.

According to authentic sources, CM instructed the officials to prepare schemes from village level to city level for the development of Minorities. These sources also indicated that CM would intervene while replying to two important questions regarding minorities in the Assembly today. The questions pertaining to the implementation of 15 point program of PM and 12% reservation to Muslims are on the agenda of the Assembly for today.

CM told that he wants such of the unique schemes which could eradicate inferiority complex among minorities and they should consider themselves at the stakeholders in the Government. CM also told the officials not to prepare schemes keeping in mind their votes. He advised them to include a higher official of the police while preparing welfare schemes for Minorities. Mr. KCR said that the only solution to eradicate the present backwardness of Minorities is to educate them. With the development of education, all the issues of the Muslims would be resolved and their backwardness would be eradicated. If the Muslims get strengthened economically, there won’t be any need for the Govt. to allocate minor grants in the budget. TRS Govt. wants to uplift minorities from their economic backwardness. CM indicated that welfare schemes would be extended to all the depressed classes from the next financial year. He told the officials not to worry about the shortage of funds while preparing welfare schemes for Minorities. He gave instructions to them to prepare a special package for Muslims on the occasion of Ramazan next year. This package should be such that the poor and the middle class Muslims should treat it the gift of Ramazan festival. He hinted that nearly Rs. 50 crore would be spent for Ramazan and Eid-ul-Fitar package next year.

Mr. KCR proposed Residential Schools for the students belonging to Minorities on par with SCs, STs. He advised the officials to setup 25 residential schools initially for minorities. He suggested that separate schemes should be prepared for the youths belonging to less than 25 years of age. For the persons who are above 50 years separate schemes should be prepared keeping in view their problems. He pointed out that even after the formation of separate Telangana State, the government is implementing the old schemes. He told the officials that the message should reach the Muslims that they are also equal shareholders in governance. He instructed the officials to construct 3-4 thousand two bedroom houses in the city of Hyderabad for Muslims. Muslims should be given due share in the allotment of houses in the districts according to the percentage of their population. He directed the officials of housing department to plan the construction of houses in the city. He proposed to include Urdu as one of the subject in all the schools. He told the officials to constitute a separate society to manage residential schools for Minorities. He told them to prepare a plan for the construction of Muslim orphanages.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Advisor to Govt. for welfare, Mr. Ram Lakshman, Principal Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare, Mr. Raymond Peter, Principal Secretary of the Dept. of Housing, Mr. Dana Kishore, Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Ms. G.D. Aruna, Director of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Jalaaluddin Akbar, MD of Minorities Finance Corporation, Mr.B. Shafiullah, Director of Urdu Academy, Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Mr. Bhopal Reddy, Secretary for Minorities Affairs in CMO and others.
