asked the officials to develop a centralised system for the development of selected municipalities under Amrut scheme.
The chief minister held a review meeting with officials from Municipal Administration, Urban Development and Planning Department for the successful implementation of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (Amrut) at Vijayawada.
Amrut will be implemented for towns with a population of above one lakh. The Chief Minister directed the officials to come up with action plans for the implementation of Amrut without further delay. “Periodic reviews will be held on the progress of implementation of this scheme,” said the Chief Minister. The review was held on the development of performance rating project in towns with population above one lakh, development of working module and appointment of experts.
For the effective implementation of Amrut in the selected municipalities, he directed the officials to coordinate with all the government departments. He asked the officials to develop a centralised system for the development of selected municipalities under Amrut.
Along with Amrut, the CM also took stock of the drinking water supply in urban areas, online permissions for the constructions of the building and the progress made in the construction of rainwater harvesting structures.
He enquired from the officials the time limit for the implementation of Amrut in 31 selected municipalities and 5 other municipalities which are not selected under the scheme.
The Chief Minister ordered for effective implementation of welfare schemes and services to increase the faith and trust of the people in the Government. Through this mission, the Government will lay emphasis on water supply, sewerage, storm water drains and urban transport. Development of green spaces and parks are also included under Amrut.
The review meeting was attended by Minister of MA & UD, P. Narayana, Chief Secretary, S.P Tucker, Advisor Communications, Dr Parakala Prabhakar, Principal Secretary to CM, Satish Chandra and other officials. (NSS)
