Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday evening visited the hangar at Begumpet Airport where a fire accident occurred on the late night of December 17.
While returning from Warangal visit, the Chief Minister went round the site and enquired about the reasons and details of the fire accident in which State Government’s helicopter and training aircrafts were gutted. Horticulture Minister Ramreddy Venkat Reddy, senior Aviation officials, officers of Security, Law and Order, Intelligence wings of Police were also present.
It may be recalled here that on learning about the fire accident, the Chief Minister, who was in tour of Visakhapatnam District as part of ‘Indiramma Baata’ programme, directed Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew to order an enquiry into the incident.
As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, a high level committee comprising of Special Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao, Principal Secretary (Home) H N Mishra and DGCA (Air Safety) Assistant Director as members was constituted to enquire into the circumstances that led to the fire accident.
