CM to initiate talks on Polavaram project

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday assured that he would soon initiate a dialogue with the chief ministers Odisha and Chattisgarh on the Polavaram project.

Talking to reporters before proceedings to Srikakulam for the by-elections campaign, the Chief Minister said that he has already briefed Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the NCTC meeting in New Delhi on Saturday and the latter has agreed to begin the talks at the government level. He said the State Government would soon begin the formal process of holdings talks with the two chief ministers to start works on Polavaram project.

The chief minister expressed happiness over the signing of agreement with Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Singh Chauhan over Pranahita-Chevalla project.

Regarding by-elections, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party was trying hard to win all 18 assembly and one parliament seat where by-elections will be held on June 12. He hope that people would vote for the ruling party based on the development programmes and schemes. He said the party had bright chances of winning the elections if all leaders work unitedly.

Kiran Kumar Reddy ridiculed the comments made by Health Minister DL Ravindra Reddy describing him as a ‘cohort’ of Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Both Ravindra Reddy and media have no other works,” was his reply when media sought his reaction. (INN)
