Hyderabad, July 25: To address the healthcare needs of the common man at affordable prices, a multi-speciality hospital Narayana Hrudayalaya Malla Reddy would be inaugurated by chief minister K Rosaiah at Jeedimetla on July 27.
Speaking to newsmen here today, Dr. Anil Kumar, director of medical services of the hospital, announced the launch of phase I of the state-of-theart multi-speciality facility with 500 beds. “Over all, the hospital aims at providing 5,000 bed facility to cater to the healthcare needs of common man at affordable cost,”’ he added. He said that founder chairman and chief mentor of Infosys, N R Narayana Murthy, Biocon CMD Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, home minister Sabita Indra Reddy, health minister Danam Nagender would attend the inaugural function.
Narayana Hrudayalaya hospitals are a global chain of healthcare providers managing heart hospitals across the country and abroad.
“We perform the largest number of paediatric heart surgeries in the world and have several surgeries to our credit such as the largest number of heart operations per day in the world,”’ Anil Kumar said.
He said that about 14 per cent of the cardiac surgeries in the country are done at Narayana Hrudayalaya with over 50 surgeries being performed in a day.
“Our dream is to make sophisticated healthcare facilities available to the masses, irrespective of status, class, creed or community with the sole aim of care, compassion and service to the sick and needy,” he added.
Explaining the features of the hospital, Anil Kumar said a 56bed ITU with sateoftheart monitoring and life support systems for patients in critical condition and 4 ITUs exclusively designed for the intensive care with a capacity of 56 beds are available in the hospital. Operation theatre, cardiac catheterization laboratory, coronary care units, diagnostic facility imaging services are other facilities in the hospital, he added.
