Hyderabad, February 3: Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the state government is increasing the minority budget for the financial year 2012-13 however he expressed his helplessness over raising the budget to 3000 crore rupees. He was talking to a delegation which called on him yesterday at camp office led by Prof. Kancha Elaiah.
Few days ago a meeting of the representatives of the various political parties was convened by the Prof. Kancha Eliah on minority budget.
It was decided in the meeting to make representation demanding allocation of minority budget upto 3000 crore rupees. Since the state budget will reach upto 1 lakh 50 thousand crore hence it was demanded to allocate 2 percent of the state budget for minorities.
President Jamat-e-Islami Hind Andhra Pradesh Mr. Khaja Arifuddin, TRS minority cell president Mr. Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Mr. Mohammad Azharuddin (Jamat-e-Islami), Mr. Mazher Husain (COVA) were among the delegation.
