CM, Geeta Reddy hail SC order

Hyderabad, March 26: Chief Minister K Rosaiah has expressed happiness over the Supreme Court’s interim order on reservations for backward classes among Muslims.

In a statement here today, the Chief Minister said: “I am happy. I am quite satisfied. Our stand has been vindicated,’’ he said.

The Chief Minister reiterated that his Government was committed to the welfare of Muslims, particularly the backward classes among them. “I congratulate the Minister for Backward Classes Welfare Mukesh Goud and Minister for Minorities Welfare Ahmadulla for working hard in this regard,’’ he said.

He hoped that all the State Government officers and advocates will work together so that the counsels could put forth an effective argument before the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court when the case comes up for final hearing.

Meanwhile, Information and Public Relations Minister J Geeta Reddy hailed the interim orders of the Supreme Court on reservations to Muslims.

In a separate statement, she said that the Supreme Court interim orders were indicative of the commitment of the State Government to providing reservations to Muslims.

She asserted that the State Government would keep its word of providing reservations to Muslims in employment and education, come what may.
