CM flays Oppn on loan waiver–Claims TS only state to clear highest Amount

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today claimed that Telangana is the only state in the Country to waive-off crop loan to a highest   extent.

During a short discussion on crop loan waiver, he stated that the government has kept up its promise and cleared 75 per cent of loan so far, and the rest will be waived off during the next budget session, he said. He explained about the commitment of the TRS Government which waived Rs 16,500 crore out of Rs 17,500 crore so far as per the  previous promise. The state government will release the rest at an appropriate time and there is no need for the farmers to get panicky, KCR stated. His remarks came at a time when the opposition Leader K Jana Reddy criticized that the TRS Government has failed to keep up the promise of crop loan waiver.

The Chief Minister said that on coming to power,  the TRS cleared Rs 480 crore arrears of farm sector and released input subsidy. He slammed the Congress and other parties for trying to blame the government on the key issue. The Chief Minister advised the opposition parties to refrain from making baseless charges on the crop loan waiver. He further said that they received Rs 1100 crore towards calamity management from the Centre against Rs 3000 crore sought. The Government is ready to clarify the doubts and give information on the key issues and the opposition should cooperate, KCR suggested.

Congress Member Utham Kumar Reddy, BJP Member G Kishen Reddy and others spoke on the issue. Utham flayed that the state government has diverted the central funds to other schemes and sought to know whether the loan waiver amount released had reached the real beneficiaries.(NSS)
